The First Annual Merrybrook Preservation Gala brought together almost 200 people from diverse areas of Virginia and Maryland. They are active in their many communities and very interested in helping local causes and merchants.

The event marked the 172.nd birthday of Laura Ratcliffe and honored friends who contributed $125 or more for preserving her memory and her home.

A festive Evening where all:

  • Heard Period music
  • Saw Civil War Dress
  • Heard a notable speaker
  • Experienced a delicious dinner
  • Experienced a Cocktail hour overlooking the Potomac.

There were also exhibits of rare Civil Wair artifacts and Mosby Historic Area groups.

  • Limited addition, hand tinted photos of Laura by artist, Susan Boch were available to guests at a discounted price. Donors of $350 or more received a dedicated copy from the artist herself.

* FOR GALA ATTENDEES ONLY: The Stuart Mosby Historical Society offered a rare ALL-DAY John. S. Mosby Tour that included lunch and detailed visits to many of the areas where the 43rd Partisan Ranger Battalion Commander conducted operations.
